Day 7 of 7 Days of Love – #weddings#love

Yay!  The last day!  We both made it!  Here are the final suggestions for Valentine’s Day.

1.  Start a tradition with your love that means something to you both.

My husband and I always gift each other Godiva on Valentine’s Day.  My dad will always get my mom a card with a dozen red roses and a box of chocolates – over 30 years and still married!  I have lists of others, but what will your tradition be?

2.  Have a gift that means something.

I will never fault any person for going with “what works”, but know that traditions enhance your relationship as much as taking that risk on those random chocolates or dipped strawberries sitting at the check out counter. :)

3.  Remember to say, “I Love You!”

I know this goes without saying, but remember after the gift giving and running around that you say the words that make each other something special.

Good Luck and Happy Valentine’s Day!

And as always Happy Planning!

Day 6 of 7 Days of Love – #weddings#love

Day 6 is dedicated to the newest and funniest place to find those handmade finds without having to handmake them yourself – ETSY LOVE DAY!  I adore etsy and it has truly revolutionized the wedding and event industry as items that were once not obtainable are now obtainable for all brides and corporations. :)   It allows everybody to get that treat that takes them back or creative card that makes them smile. :)   The cards alone that you can find on Etsy will hit many personal notes that they will keep your loved one smiling for days after Valentine’s Day!

Here are some of the finds that I found just by typing in “Valentine’s Day”!

Day 4 of 7 Days of Love #weddings#love

This is day 4 and I am going to focus on those little things that truly matter in your relationship around this time of year.  The below are ideas on how to make that certain someone feel special without breaking the bank or opening the pocketbook too much.

1. Make a coupon book of things that the other would adore.  Allow me to explain that you could make the coupon to say, “Do the dishes for a week without complaining” – it will surely make the other laugh and laughter is an incredible medicine!

2.  Make the other breakfast in bed.  Now if you are not a future Iron Chef or Food Network Star, then you are more than welcome to call on a caterer to provide a gorgeous breakfast for two. If you are still fearful of the kitchen, then definitely check your local coffee shop (Adore Coffee ‘n Cream in Frisco www.coffeencream.com) for pastries or scones.

3. Make a slideshow!  Before you start running for the hills about how difficult this might be, allow me to calm those fears with how easy this truly is.  You will need to find photos that you want to include and find some time.  Here is a website that I love to use – www.animoto.com

Tune in tomorrow for Day 5!

And always Happy Planning!

Day 3 of Days of Love #weddings#love

Here is the my tip for the third day of my blog series all about how to get your Valentine’s Day going the right way!  Flowers!  I adore them, but I will go ahead and reveal that I am allergic to them.  I adore them and can’t get enough of them, but my husban will even reveal that I don’t allow them in the house for longer than a day thus he usually goes with chocolate or sweet treats for my gift – and I don’t ever complain. :)

Anyways flower shops everywhere will try to get to you just any arrangement, but the below florists will really take time to figure what works best for you and your sweetheart.

1. Di Fiori – www.difiori.com

One of my favorite florists because these ladies really know how to make an arrangement that makes your eyes and heart happy.  I adore how they make everything look so elegant and soft.  Love!

2.  Fleurs de France – www.fleursdallas.com

Dianne is simply terrific at capturing the rustic to the traditional with soft edges!  Her arrangemetns are incredible with loads of color and still a lightness to each one.

3. Bows and Arrows – www.bowsandarrowsdeluxe.com

This florist is for that special sweetie who wants something a little different and whose major obsession is Martha Stewart.  The personalities of the owners, Adam and Alicia Rico, truly are reflected in each and every floral design.  They are an incredible team and they organized a menu (pictured below) for all to order their special someone a Valentine’s Day treat.  The floral arrangements are incredible as well as the other items on the menu – mini cakes and decorated chocolate covered strawberries by Cakewalk!  Also, adorable stationer items by Blue Eye/Brown Eye.  Enjoy!

Day 2 of 7 Days of Valetine’s Day Love #weddings#love

Today is Day 2 of our series on Valentine’s Day Gifts that will make your true love swoon!  I absolutely adore chocolate and the second thing I adore is some incredible food from some of the finest that Dallas has to offer.

Here are the top picks!

1. Rick’s Chophouse in Downtown McKinney

I want to rave about their incredible food and service, but really all I have to say is shrimp and grits with a side of calamari with a guacolmole drizzle served with a spicy dipping sauce!  Their food speaks for itself and the service was incredible!  From the moment that I walked in I knew exactly when I would be seated and was offered a beverage. :)   I adore great service above all, but the food again was incredible!  How many places can you go in Dallas and have fancy fried chicken?!?  I adore how they have taken comfort food to the next level of being appropriate for all to consume on that special holiday or on that Thursday night that needs to get you thru to Friday. :)

2. Pappa’s Brothers – Dallas, TX

One of the best steakhouse’s in Dallas!  If you truly want to wine and dine your sweetheart with some fabulous upscale dining that will indulge that craving from some steak and potatoes, then this is your place!  I will say that you should definitely check out their Lobster Bisque and their desserts (if there is room).

3.  Nicola’s – Shops at Legacy, Plano, TX

This is one of my favorite special occasion restaurants as the atmosphere and the food really transport me to a different place.  I adore their spin on Italian food that isn’t your garden variety spaghetti and meatballs. :)   The one suggestion I would make is try their anti-pasta platter that has the infused onions!  Yes, I realize onions aren’t the most romantic of foods, but there is always mints or chocolatey treats that you can coherce out of your mate once dinner is completed.  I mean Schokolade is always on the way to the romantic walk around the lake. :)

7 Days of Love – #Valentinesday #DallasWeddingPlanner

I am started this series today as it is 7 days before the fabulous day of the year that we can all run around and proclaim for someone special!  Does this mean a significant other?  Yes!  Does this mean that secret crush…maybe or maybe not.  Is this girlfriend appreciation day as well?!?  Yes!

I am going to spoil you with 7 days of blog posts of gift ideas, dinner ideas, and even a few extra eye candy photos in there to make your Valentine’s Day special!

Since today is Day 1 – let’s start with the best part about Valentine’s Day – the chocolate! :)   Personally, I can’t have chocolate at this point, but I adore it…I venture into chocolate shoppes just to smell and that is almost just as good as consuming it!

Here are some of my local Dallas favorite Chocolatiers that really know how to make your Valentine’s Day special!

1. Dude Sweet Chocolate – 8304 Preston Center Plz, Dallas, TX

They specialize in chocolates that look exotic as well as have some fun flavors that will keep you guessing!  Their grade of chocolate items are incredible and come on they are definitely living up to their name -Dude, Sweet Chocolate!  Photo Courtesy of CBS DFW.

2.  Chocolate Secrets – 3926 Oak Lawn, Dallas, TX

Their chocolates not only look like masterpieces, but they taste even better!  When presentation is everything for the certain someone, then remember there is no secret – Chocolate Secrets are incredible!  Photo Courtesy of their website – www.mychocolatesecrets.com

The box below is a part of their Valentine’s Day specials that goes for $40 for 16 adorably hand painted chocolates.

Bridal Statement Dresses – #DallasWeddingPlanner

I decided to make this blog post about the one thing that I haven’t been able to get off my mind for the past week – Christian Siriano’s Finale Dress!  It is gorgeous!  I simply adore it!  It is perfect this season’s wedding trends of bridal in color with those soft edges that dresses have!  The odd thing about this dress is that it was done years ago!  Imagine throwing tradition aside and walking down in the beauty!

Enjoy!
