Hi Everybody!

I am so excited to be sharing these engagement photos with all of you today!  Tosha (LaTosha, but only on paper) and Chris are one of my favorite couples!  I can’t wait for their wedding at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, TX this month.  I will say that I will miss my meetings with Tosha and her adorable son, Emori, the most!  Her son, Emori, is always dressed so adorably and greets me with a hug.

Here are just a sample of their wedding photos from the amazing Laura Parker with Fairy Tale Photography.

Hello Everybody!

I got the opportunity to work with Laura Miller, owner of Laura Miller Photography, on a styled shoot that was bride, fun, crafty, rustic and above all things – full of eye candy!

Behind the Photoshoot

The idea for the photoshoot came from seeing all of these adorable bow ties in weddings, but honestly bow ties aren’t very feminine.  There is truly nothing more whimsy and girly than a butterfly.  Butterflies are often released at the end of wedding ceremonies to signify the couple coming together and the emotions they are feeling through the butterflies’ flight.  The color palette came from not seeing a whole lot of citrus colors from weddings or styled shoots.  I always like to put a styled shoot out there that is a little different, because I want every bride to feel her vision is obtainable.  Trends are trends, but preference is true style.

The next step in assembling a team who agreed with my vision.  It was easy to find a photographer who loves bright colors (Yes, Laura that is you!) and isn’t afraid to do something bold and different.  The florist, Emily of Petals Couture, agreed immediately as well!  Finding a stationery designer who could truly understand our fun and whimsy feel was easy as well, because Annie of 5 by 7 Designs embodies whimsy as well as has this way of pulling it together to make it the paper goods look polished and timeless.  The venue, Rustic Grace Estate, made the shoot something different and fun, but definitely speaks to the modern bride’s ideal of what a wedding should look like.  I could go on and on about all of the vendors, because they were honestly all amazing!  For a full link of vendors, please see Links below.

Hi Everybody!

I have recently been hard at work on some new styled shoots.  If you haven’t heard of styled shoots, then know that they are mini Dallas weddings put together by Dallas wedding professionals to possibly plant some new trends and ideas for your special DFW wedding.

Inspiration for Styled Shoot

I will begin to blog and post them on my Facebook page for all to see.  The first one that I will start with was called Haystack.  The concept came from photographer, Ben Quintanilla AKA Ben Q Photography!  What an amazing concept and fun styled shoot to be a part of.  The big difference between this styled shoots and other ones that I have done is that this involved lots of photographers who used film.  The entire concept of using film comes from Ben.  The wedding industry comes dependent on digital means to make photography beautiful, then there will be lost art of film photography.  Ben is working to keep it around  and preserve it.  He assembled a group of photographers that were second to none amazing!  That all shot this styled session with film.  In Ben’s words, “The editing takes longer, but the end product has this great feel that digital photography just can’t imitate”.

Special Note:  That if you would like to see all for the photographers who participated in this styled shoot’s work, then please visit my Facebook Page to see the entire group of over 100 images from over 5 photographers!

Hello Everybody!

I was out on vacation last week, so this week I have decided to grace your presence with fanciful and beatiful Cakes!  Enjoy!  I adore posting about beautiful cakes that are trending in weddings, because let’s all be honest that we attend weddings to celebrate and to eat some awesome cake!  Wedding cakes truly bring together a couples’ theme into a multi-tiered beauty made out of sugar.

Top Trends

1. Naked Cake by Sugar Bee Sweets!  Heidi is an amazing baker.  If you haven’t had her strawberry cake with cream cheese icing, then you haven’t takes amazing cake!  I really like the naked cake trend, but I will say one thing about it – If you love frosting, then this isn’t the cake for you.

2.  Adore this watercolor wedding cake!  The contemporary and romantic feel to this cake is something that guests will flock to at your reception to see!  Photo Courtesy of Green Wedding Shoes

3.  I love these cakes!  Sprinkles make life a little brighter and little more sweeter. This trend is something that I have been seeing more of recently and I think it might be something that will be here to stay.  Photo Courtesy of Caratsandcakes.com

3.  I love glitter!  All shades of sparkle are good in my book.  This cake is from Layered Bake Shop.  I love the blackberry details with the anemone on top of all of the cascading gold sparkles.

4.  Again sparkle is all good in my book, so this next cake has sparkle all over!  Enjoy!  Photo Courtesy of Confetti Day Dreams

Hi Everybody!

I can’t wait to show you Kathryn and Thomas’s engagement photos!  Kathryn and Thomas were married this past March at the Dallas World Aquarium.

But first things first, here are their gorgeous engagement photos from Laura Miller Photography.  I will tell you on thing about their engagement session that it was freezing cold that day.  You honestly can’t tell one bit!

Story behind their engagement session

As I mentioned up above, their engagement session was in the freezing cold.  I have to be honest that unrealistically bad weather was some of what a theme when having planning meetings or  bridals with Kathryn.  Her go with the flow attitude definitely helped out, because wedding planning can get stressful especially when commuting to a bridal session on icy roads in Texas.

They picked the Dallas World Aquarium and White Rock Lake as their locations for their engagement sessions.
